3 Things You Can Do With Corned Beef
When it comes to corned beef, there often isn’t a lot of recipes out there where you can cook with it. However, here are three recipes you can use in how to make corned beef actually taste good.
Crispy Slow Cooker Corned Beef
Ever consider tossing your corned beef into the slow cooker? Not only will this recipe get you the crispiest corned beef you ever tasted in your life, but it’ll leave it juicy. For this recipe all you’ll need is a few ingredients:
A couple pounds of corned beef
1 cup of water
3 cloves of minced garlic
1 bay leaf
2 tablespoons of brown or white sugar
2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar
1/2 teaspoon of ground pepper
Once you have all of those ingredients together toss them all together in a slow cooker along with the corned beef (make sure the fat side is sticking up), add enough water that it just covers the meat, then set your slow cooker on low for roughly 8 to 9 hours. And your corned beef is done! If it isn’t brown enough for your liking you can stick your beef into the oven for a few minutes to give it a nice crust. Serve with whatever sides you like.
Brown Sugar Baked Corned Beef
This recipe makes a succulent corned beef that you can bake in the oven.
Ingredients:
3 pounds of corned beef
1/2 cup Dijon mustard
1/4 cup sugar (brown or white)
Preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. Grab a baking pan and layer it with aluminum foil, place the corned beef with the fat up inside of the baking pan. Proceed to brush the corned beef with a thick layer of Dijon mustard, then sprinkle the sugar on top of the meat evenly. Wrap the corned beef with foil and place it in the oven to bake for up to 4 hours. Once that is done, remove the foil covering the beef and allow it to broil for up to 3 minutes until the top is lightly browned. Remove the beef from the oven and allow it to rest for 10 minutes before slicing. Once that is done, serve it.
Corned Beef and Butter Sandwiches
While this recipe may seem odd, it’s packed with a ton of flavor!
Ingredients:
1/2 cup of butter
2 tbsp of brown mustard
6 slices of bread
Several slices of deli corned beef
In a bowl combine the mustard and butter together. Spread the mixture onto the slices of bread and then lay down the slices of deli corned beef. Cut the sandwiches into tiny squares and then eat.
